Who are they?

There is no legal right to an attorney in Family Court. People feel powerless and confused by the arcane system that is deciding the fate of their families. Tragic and avoidable injustice follows. LIFT was founded to provide information and services to families representing themselves and thereby enhance justice for the children and families of New York City.

Why do they need us?

We have worked with LIFT for over a decade. We recently launched a completely redesigned website, including a secure email and phone hotline. We are particularly proud of the "guides" section, which contains hundreds of pages of carefully curated questions and answers, professionally translated into seven different languages to address the needs of New York's diverse population.
